is currently a student at Georgia College and State University, pursuing her bachelor degrees in English Creative Writing and French. Despite she's still in school, Blanchard got started on her dream: becoming a published writer. Check out our interview with her below!

When did you decide to write a book? Had you always wanted to be a writer?

I was a freshman in high school and it had been only four months after my Dad had died. I was sitting in study hall trying to study for a test I had the next period when this voice (Adeline’s) started talking. I know this sounds completely crazy, but she wouldn’t stop repeating the same line over and over again, like she was waiting for me to pay attention to her. So, I stopped studying and wrote down what she was telling me. I couldn’t stop writing and I suppose the rest is history. I always wanted to write ever since I was eleven. That was when, I suppose, I had finally decided what I had wanted to be when I grow up: a writer.

How have your chapter sisters shown their support?

My sisters in the Theta chapter have gone above and beyond when it comes to support. They all encouraged me, prayed for me, and loved me through it all. They even planned my very first book signing at my university and did everything they could to promote my first book. I was so humbled by their unconditional love and support.

What three words would you use to describe Forget Me Not?

This is a hard question. I think I would use the words sweet, truthful, and unique. It’s a sweet love story that may be paranormal in genre, but reveals truths about life in general. It’s unique in that I have never read a book so heavily influenced by Native American culture, which is another reason that drove me to write it – my love for Native culture.

Are there any inspirations in your real life for any of your characters?

My dad was a huge inspiration for the novel in general, but it’s hard to pinpoint any one character to a person from my life. I’d say that each character has personality traits from the people I have met and interacted with. Don’t be too surprised if you see a character that resembles you if you know me personally. [She laughs.]

What advice would you give to anyone who wants to write a book?

My advice for aspiring authors is to never give up, no matter who tells you to! I had countless literary agents and other publishing companies reject my book, but I didn’t give up on my characters. Also, don’t worry about the publishing aspect of writing. Write because you love to write. Tell yourself a story you love and don’t worry about anyone else.

When is your new book coming out?

I don’t have an exact release date for Morning Glory: Book Two in the Forget Me Not Trilogy, but I am certain it will be by the end of this year. My publisher and I are hoping for an August release date, but we shall see.

Sneak Peak!

“Morning Glory: Book Two in the Forget Me Not Trilogy”

This war is far from over. This war is only the beginning.

For Adeline Jasely, the threat of both her life and the lives of those she loves is only getting greater as she delves deeper and deeper into the mysteries of the Chippewa tribe. As she falls more in love with Cole, she must make a choice: stand up and fight for what is right or wait for the next person she loves to be taken away.

Book Two in the Forget Me Not TrilogyMorning Glory continues the saga of Adeline and Cole, their newfound love, and the threat of those who wish to end it all.

Will Adeline grow stronger under the threat of more war and bloodshed or will she be unable to fight for those who need her?
